Here are my two sketches for my Typography 1Malaysia poster.
Here is the rough sketch. :) I will explain the details in the next picture.
Here is the finalized design.
TEXT:
The big '1' I plan to do as the traditional 1Malaysia number one.
For the rest of the text except Malaysia, I plan to do it transparently but with a drop shadow so that everyone can read them.
For the Malaysia, I might also do transparent with a hint of colour and make a glowing effect.
BACKGROUND:
As for the flag, I will draw from a reference picture and make it wavy like it's waving proudly in the wind.
The figure in the middle is supposed to be Tunku Abdul Rahman, the first Prime Minister when he declared Malaysia's independence from the British. I will make it a silhoutte of him.
And the rest of Malaysia icons at the back such as the KL Tower, the Petronas Twin Towers and the National Monument (Tugu Negara) will be done in the same manner.
The rest of the space will be blue like the sky.
The BG will be blurred a bit to give more focus to the typography.
This is my plan for now.
